Go Swimming

Though it's no longer the Dog Days, it's still damned hot in Hangzhou. In order to avoid staying in an air-conditioning room for a whole day, we went for a swim with several coworkers of ours.

David and I simply took some fast food and rushed out. In a haste, we took a wrong bus by mistake, so we had to walk in big sun to the Stadium. On our way, an old man in rags was just sleeping on pavement, whose hair and mustache are totally white. At that moment, I suddenly felt so depressed and heart-struck. There are really some severe problems behind our flourished society.

We arrived there while other three had beening waiting for us. The swimming pool was a little crowded, we don't have enough place to swim freely. Though i can swim a breast stroke, but i dare not to swim in deep water.

I try to persuade David to practise how to save me when I'm in danger. So i was pretending to be a dead dog. He tried but quickly gave up and said in a smile that i was overweighted! Instead, he persuade me to swim more so as to lose some weight! I was so frustrated and he enjoyed the sunshine on a beach chair.

What i have to admit is that we are no longer as strong as before. Modern work in fast step takes up most of our time and weakens our body. We took some Korean dishes and walked back home. But, i fell asleep for about one hour and a half right after i arrived at home.

Finally I saw this movie. I'd rather say it's a great family movie, especially for boys and girls. The movie is not hard to find on Internet, but I feel a little puzzled to see it, 'cause I know I will badly tear. I really did When Maya (the dog leader) is seemingly dead.

I don't know why the name was translated into the "Eight Below". Obviously it not refers to the temperature, since the story happened in the Antarctic Circle. But we do have eight dogs which seems to have somewhat relations with it. Though I'm not satisfied with the name, I do appreciate the performance of those smart dogs. They are Huskies.

The story is not complicated. In the freezingly cold Scientific Base, eight sled dogs serves for scientist and even saved his life in a dangerous adventure. When the winter comes, there is a huge storm. People must restreat to America with the dogs left on their own in that tough environment. Yet the people cannot keep their promise to go back to fetch them. Then dogs had to fight to survive by themselves, to hunt for food and to warm each other.

Huskies are well-trained and they are really splendid actors. They can even imitate to be dead or injured. Most of times, I was moved by their eyes, unwavering and full of hope and faith.

The movie is successful not only because it shows the friendship between people and animals, but also tells us how to follow our heart. "You got to take chances for what you care about."
